When Ellen Richmond returns to her hometown to accept an achievement award, she discovers the town hasn't changed much at all. Her younger sister Catherine (Emily Rutherfurd) is still involved with the wrong men, her mother Dot (Cloris Leachman) keeps her room exactly the same as Ellen left it, her old high school teacher Mr. Munn (Martin Mull) is still teaching and old boyfriend Rusty (Jim Gaffigan) still thinks he and Ellen might have a future together. But with her dot.com business in trouble back in the big smoke, Ellen is destined to spend more than just a few days exploring her past.
This two-disc, 18-episode set includes the handful of shows that never made it on television. Guest stars include Betty White and Mary Tyler Moore, and Dakota Fanning who playing a chatty school-age version of Ellen.
