Description
Ideas man (and part-time pool cleaner) Luke (Luke Barnett, Funny or Die ) and his best friend Tanner (Tanner Thomason, The Stand at Paxton County ) are at a cross-roads and looking for a little direction in life. Discovering the lucrative Christian film industry might just be the get rich quick scheme of their dreams, they set about making one of their own. Inspired by the entrepreunerial wisdom of pyramid scheme superstar, Nicky Steele (Jason Alexander, Seinfeld ), and backed by Luke’s Dad, Pastor Mike’s (Lance Reddick, John Wick ) church congregation, Luke and Tanner get to work on making A Prayer in Space (the story of the first prayer ever to be prayed… in space!) a reality.
With green-screen suits for everyone and the promise of washed up action star Butch Savage (David Koechner, Anchorman) playing GOD, production begins. But when they realize they don't actually know much about Christianity, and even less about filmmaking, the whole project suddenly seems like a lot more work than they imagined.
With new relationships and old misunderstandings driving them apart, can they finish the movie and save not only their friendship, but the church they convinced to fund their movie?
